State-of-the-art imaging with high sensitivity spectroscopy
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a well established tool in clinical diagnostics. Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Imaging (EPRI) is based on the same principles and gives the spatial distribution of the unpaired electron spins throughout the sample of interest. By so called spectral-spatial imaging every volume element can be further analysed with respect to all standard EPR spectrum parameters. The typical fields of application today are biomedical research and material science. In the biomedical field precise information on tissue oxygen partial pressure can be obtained. The spatial distribution and time dependence of radicals in polymers is a typical example form material science. Our EPRI system E 540, a part of the renowned ELEXSYS family, offers all imaging features in an integrated design with resolution down to a micrometer scale.
